The Field (III page 7, see Appendix 1 on page 30)
- Regulation field size = 40 yards wide, 70 yards long with two 25 yard endzones
The Pull (VIII.B page 13)
- (4) Both pulling team and receiving team raise a hand to signal readiness. Each team must have a minimum of 2 players, maximum of 7 players.
- (5) Pulling team can move anywhere within their endzone, but cannot cross endzone line. Receiving team must stand stationary with 1 foot on the endzone line. (Application: you must be on or behind the endzone line for the pull.)
- (7) Putting the pull into play (if pull not caught)
- In-bounds: Put into play where disc stops.
- In-bounds then out-of-bounds: Put into play at sideline point where it went out. If rolled out the endzone, then put into play at front of endzone (on sideline if out the side, or direct line to front of endzone if out the back).
- Out-of-bounds:
- At the sideline where it crossed out-of-bounds
- Brick receiving player indicates brick by raising hand above head
- At the brick mark (20 yards from endzone, middle of field)
- In the middle of the field directly across from sideline point where disc went out-of-bounds
- (9) If pull is touched but not caught by the receiving team that is a turnover.
- (10) The pull must be put into play by the player who first takes possession. (Application: one player cannot get the pull from out-of-bounds and hand it to a teammate. That is a turnover!)
Traveling (XIII.D page 20)
- Thrower must establish a pivot.
- Thrower cannot change their pivot until throw is released.
- (1) If thrower loses contact with pivot (i.e. ground) that is a travel.
- (3) If receiver speeds up, changes direction, or takes more steps than necessary to stop after catching a pass that is a travel
- Anyone on the field can call “travel!” If travel called, play stops. There must be a check of the disc to resume play.
- Completed throw: disc returns to thrower, play resumes
- Incomplete throw: turnover
Stalling (XIV.C page 21)
- Only 1 defensive player may guard the thrower; that player is the “marker”
- The thrower is allowed 10 seconds to throw; the marker counts the stall
- If thrower does not release disc before 10 seconds, it is a stall. It is the marker’s responsibility to yell “stall!” at which time play stops.
- Uncontested stall: turnover
- Contested stall: if pass completed, then marker resumes stall at 9; if pass incomplete, it is a turnover
