July 3rd, 2007 · 1 Comment

year one x2

June 27th, 2007 · No Comments

elephant nature park in n. thailand

June 17th, 2007 · 2 Comments

thailand is famous for its elephants; elephants are a center of national identity (a white elephant was on the thai flag until the late 1910s) and a main draw for tourists. we chose to go to thailand because that was the lonely planet available at the bookstore and because we wanted to see the […]

we’re in thailand, not uganda. did you know that? it’s obvious to us with the 16+ hour travel, 4 hour time difference, and smoothly paved roads with stoplights. sorry to the respective anderson and bowen fams for not posting sooner so you knew we were safe and sound…

gunflint wildfire

May 11th, 2007 · No Comments

minnesota’s northwoods are on fire. the boundary waters canoe area and homes around the gunflint trail are burning, leaving devastation in the ashes. most likely cause: a campfire. the bowen half of anderson bowen is watching the fire’s progress closely as it comes down the trail nearer to grand marais.
i came across […]

world travelers

May 11th, 2007 · No Comments

when we moved here we decided that we would take one trip per month outside of kampala. we figured it could be so easy to live here for years and never leave the city because we’d fall into routines and such. we’ve stuck to that plan pretty well with some months filled-in with […]

paige, the manager vs. paige, the person

May 10th, 2007 · 2 Comments

i don’t talk much about my job on this blog. i should talk about it more since it’s the reason we’re here, but the day-to-day is the most difficult to make interesting. especially since, what do i do? i manage. trust me, though, this “day in the life of a manager” […]
