queen's speech

our friend chris – stalwart ultimate player – has been doing PhD research on tourism in bwindi impenetrable forest for the past few years. the other night he and his girlfriend lindsey (our first guests to the new house!) came over to swap christmas pictures. the conversation evolved into a history lesson on the u.k. taught by chris the englishman and attended by two americans (me and phil) and a canadian (lindsey). i finally learned the difference between the u.k., great britain, and england. who knew?

in the london tube station this morning on my way to heathrow i saw an advertisement that said "it as christmas as stockings, stuffing and the queen's speech." i'd never heard of the queen's speech until i met chris. funny enough for us, chris and his bwindi friends staged their own queen's speech this christmas season. check it out at youtube. it's worth it. chris is the tall lanky guy wearing the mask. he makes for good queen.
